Top hotels near La Costa de las Palomas and Big Sur have seen the biggest increase in their number of rooms since the beginning of this year.
According to the hotel data compiled by TripAdvisor, hotel occupancy rates in the resorts in the top five resorts in Costa del Sur, which includes Big Sur and La Palomas, rose from 0.6% in February to 1.3% in July.
In contrast, occupancy rates for the resorts at the bottom five resorts fell from 1.4% in March to 0.8% in August.
According an earlier report, occupancy in the resort hotels at the top three resorts, La Costa Sanitaria, BigSur and La Costa, decreased from 1% to 1%.
In a statement, the hotel company said that occupancy rates of the hotel rooms at the resorts with the highest occupancy rates were higher in July than in the previous month.
Hotel occupancy rates rose from 1 percent to 1% in June and July compared to 1 percent and 0.5 percent in February, it said.
Hotels in La Paloma and BigSur had their highest occupancy rate during the period July to September, but that increased to 0 percent and 1.8 percent in August and September, the company said.
In July, hotel rooms with occupancy rates exceeding 10% had been recorded in La Paz, La Palomar and BigSanto.
